Whiskey Creek Ranch

Over Labor Day weekend we headed up to Whiskey Creek Ranch in Grace, Idaho. We had a great time hiking, chatting, fly-fishing, playing with animals and riding 4-wheelers.
Kelly has great form from years of fly-fishing!
This was my first time fishing, crazy I know. I had to learn a few tips from M.R. Brown but we caught a beautiful rainbow trout after a team play of him casting and me reeling it in! (We didn't get a picture of it before we had to put it back in.)

We feed the piglets slop, (mostly left-over pizza and rotten veggies but they loved it!)

Kell and her cousin Alan decided to chase the pigs in the pen. They really can squeal!

We played with the calfs.

I even got in the pen to pet them. Notice I was wearing flip-flops. I just had to watch where I stepped.

We spent the afternoon riding the 4-wheelers. Here is one of Kell trying to reply her accident with Dave K. back in junior high.

Al refused to ride without a helmet, even though Kell and I are the ones with no health insurance!
It was a long, but beautiful ride through the forest. We had a great time.

Here are a few shots of the ranch courtsey of M.R. Brown: it is harvest time!

We had a great time, and I was sad when we had to leave. Hopefully we can head up there again next summer for the giant slip-n-slide!

Lagoon

Carlee's sister works for Lagoon, so we decided to head over for a family appreciation day. Our first stop: Jet Star. It turns out that you have to have even numbers to ride and since there was three of us we weren't sure what to do. There were 3 guys behind us so Kelly offered to ride with them. Oh, did I mention the 3 guys were somewhere between the ages of 10-11. The kid sat behind Kelly and had to straddle her. Car and I couldn't stop laughing! Next, Kell and Car decided to ride the Samurai. I do not ride spinny, twisty rides unless I'm feeling like I want to puke. I had a nice rest on a bench and did some great people watching. (Hill this one's for you: Dammit Derek!)
After a few more rides, we strolled over to Pioneer Park. Even after my 2 summers lifeguarding at the beach I still had not spent any time here besides riding the log flume. It was fun exploring the old houses and shops.

This is what Carlee did while Kell and I had a look around. She had apparently been to Pioneer Village before and once you've seen one log cabin, you've seen 'em all!

We ended the night with a fun ride on Wicked, the new roller coaster. It was a blast, and always fun to hang out with some of my best girls!
